Question #1:

How come no one ever gets on Djokovic and his box for all the stunts they've pulled?

Let's review:

The 2008 Australian Open. From the rhytmic chanting to the N-O-L-E shirts, it was highly unprofessional, showed a lack of class, and was visibly distracting to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

His 2008 U.S. Open incident with Andy Roddick. For me, this is where my dislike(although the players don't like him either) started for him. Before this, I always thought of him as an OK tennis player with some funny impressions. After the classless interview he gave Michael Barkann, his whole image changed. He should have issued a public apology. They both say it's over, but we really don't know. Say what you want about Roddick the player, but you can never say anything about Roddick the person.

His parents constantly getting up during matches. They started all of this in Australia, and it never stopped. They have no shame in any action they take or do.

His father's shirt at the U.S. Open. All I have to say about this is, like Venus' dresses, it's a distraction, and someone should tell him to take it off.

His parents' owning a tournament on the ATP Tour. What makes them qualified to run a tournament? You need licensing, experience, etc. They're not his coaches, so they don't have experience.

On the overall, I don't hate the guy, because there are a lot more things to hate(like what all of us New Yorkers will mark once again this Saturday), but I think to improve his image, and to make himself likable in the locker room again(where it's most important), he needs to do charity work, not make vulgar remarks(sleeping with your girlfriend, I have something else between my legs, in refrence to the between the legs shot), and just come off as a good guy. If you want to unload on me, that's fine, and I welcome all opinions, but let me just say my intent on posting this was not to cheap shot him, but to just point out what others won't.

Question #2:

What is the most number of sets played by a single player in a tennis tournament?

Tennis

Question is, for a single player in a single tournament, who has played the most number of sets (excluding qualifying) and how many sets?

It is most likely to be in a Grand Slam, since Grand Slams can reach maximum of five sets in a match (men), and Grand Slams has more rounds than ATP/WTA tours.

I noticed that a lot of players who win five-setters will be more likely to lose (or retire) the next round, for obvious reasons of course. So I wonder, who has survived most sets before bowing out, or even win!

Question #10:

can i make it as a pro star?

Hi,

I am currently 14 and I started playing when I was 12 almost 13.
I have played a ton of competitions already (once a week) and I play quite often and I have very solid strokes and can hit clean winners.
I beat people who have been playing for 5,6,7,8 years and I played a coach today (not my one) and we played two tiebreakers to 10, which he barely beat me in. I know he wouldnt have been trying his best but he was definitely playing good, he hit winners and aces.
Also, I was hitting backhand winners and sneaky drop shots.
Anyway, he asked me how long I have been playing tennis and I said one year and he said you are amazing for only one year.
But then he said its a shame you didnt start earlier you would have been so good.
So I was wondering could I still make it as a pro and be very good even though I have started late.
I work so hard when I practice and I go to the gym 2-3 times a week and I am already getting seeded in my tournaments.

thanks so much

Question #11:

Why was the flag of the Philippines carried at the opening ceremonies of the 2010 U.S. Open Tennis Tournament?

Question #12:

Why Olympic Gold is less important in tennis?

As I know, olympic gold is very meaningful and important in most of sport such as track and field, swimming, hockey, volley ball, basketball, table tennis, badminton, etc except soccer and tennis.

For basketball, the most important tournamnet is still Olympic.
NBA is also well known but held in US only.

For soccer, we can understand why it is less popular because many professional players are not allowed to participate in Olympic tournament.

But, for tennis, it is different. All the professional players are welcome to participate in the tournament.
But, most of them are interested in Grand Slam.
They also treat ATP1000 higher grade than Olympic.

Why? Olympic is held once every four year. Not many people have chance to win gold in their career. Pete Sampras, Federer who are considered as greatest of all show bad performance in Olympic.

I know that Federer has regreted and thus he played seriously in double when he lost in single in Beijing Olympic.
At least, he won GOLD in his tennis career.

What do you all think?

Question #13:

How good at tennis can I get?

Well--

I am going on 17 years old. (junior) This year I decided not to go out for my tennis team because I have too much going on (i kind of regret it... but I think i found a way to make up for it) anyways what I want to do next year is try to make it to state in tennis. (Minnesota)

I am from Saint Cloud MN. I go to Apollo (we aren't a very good organization.. at anything sports wise) but everybody has the opportunity to go to state as a double or single team representing their team! So it's not just TEAM all the time! haha

however, I usually play 3 doubles. So i guess i am no that good.

What I need to work on is
-consistency
-returns
-serves (kind of. I have GOOD control. I aced all the time in doubles on the outside and inside because of my awesome placement. but that is 3 doubles.. i need to be at 1 doubles)
-backhands (kind of confused on the form a little bit)

I plan on doing an 8 week varsity camp the summer of 2011. it's every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. It's called Jack Bowe tennis academy, if anyone has ever heard of it. it goes for two whole months so i thought 540 was a pretty good deal. I'd also be playing against other varsity people and there are tournaments every friday that I can participate in. if you win you even get money. (10 entrance fee)

do you think i'd be able to make it too state?

how often should i practice?

any good practice techniques?

thank you!

Question #19:

Tennis Match - Sugar Low Problems?

I am a tennis addict, and I love to play in leagues, ladders, tournaments, I just started the tournaments in July. I am what the doctors calls a reverse diabetic. Which means that I am under total control with diet and exercise, and have been off meds for five years. My problem, which is why I decided to get control of my sugar, is that when I play in a match such as tournaments or leagues my sugar drops really low. (I don't have this problem during recreational practice for some reason). After the tournament that I did win yesterday in 3 sets, I got home my sugar was "65", which is why the match ended in a 3rd set tiebreak even though I was serving 5 - 2 for the match in the 3rd. In the tiebreak, I started feeling really dizzy, the chair umpire asked us to play a lil faster between points because other final matches were getting backed up due to our long 3 hours match. I knew my sugar was dropping, but there are no breaks in tiebreaks to drink carbs. During the match, I had dranked two bottles of orange juice, gatorade sometimes hurt my stomach so I do not drink that. I ate 1 1/2 ham sandwhich after the 2nd set during the five minute break hoping that the carbs in the bread would help, plus I did not want to get hungry. I will start taking sliced apples and more orange juice.

Any other suggestions.
