whats up with people saying negative things about sharapova ?

i mean cmon seriusly . Not just on y/a answers but other places i heard negative things like wow she lost in the 4th round . but i mean it was to wozniacki ! wozniacki is a great player ! . & people calling her overrated like wtf ? this year she had a tough draw ! , she lost to kirilenko whos a good tennis player but maria didnt playe her best , then at the french open she loss to henin in a tough match where she played her best , & then at wimbledon she loss to serena where she played her best & then here she lost to wozniacki but as you can see maria didnt play her best .
she has 3 grand slams people ! , more than clijsters , kuznetsova , dementieva , ivanovic etc . the only active players who have more grand slams than her are henin , venus , & serena ! .
i mean i believe she has what it takes to win another grand slam but to do that she has to be playing her best tennis . idk why people are saying negative things about her ? she had a great summer beating kuznetsova ! , & dementieva , & barely losing to clijsters & losing to azarenka , another great player .
idk if its just me but i seriously want to know why people are saying negative things about her ?
everyone has had disappointing losses this year . the only people are dominant in my book are serena & clijsters .

How many of you were embarrassed when U.S., John Isner played the longest tennis match in history?

When I saw the match, I was like "WHY THE HELL DON'T YOU JUST PUT HIM AWAY"???! I think I slept or took a jog, went shopping, and cooked two meals while this boring, dumb match played on. Why was everyone giving him props when he, another mdeiocore American male player, could not put his opponent, France's Nicolas Mahut, away at Wimbledon?

A nearly 12 hour match because neither could put the other away? Another American with false bragging rights on the most boring, irritating match ever in tennis history?? Um, I was not impressed and after that match he went and lost the very next match.

He, just like most American male tennis players, could not put his opponent away and frankly pissed a lot of people off. To me, American male tennis players just run their mouths on and off the court to hype up fake attention for themselves as if flappin' their fat yaps will win them the match OUT ON THE COURT where that energy should be expended!

Was it just me or what were your feelings about this Wimbledon match? --- how about American male tennis players over all?? I am an American by the way, but whenever an American male comes up to play, I am highly apprehensive!
I am an American citizen, born and raised, so don't get it twisted. There's no racism here as I consider both Blake and Roddick losers. Isner is about to go out now too. I just keep skipping ever so lightly back and forth to his match because he just won't take the bull by the horns and break on Youzhny.

What do you make of Alexandra Dulgheru?

She came out of nowhere to win a title last year ranked No. 201 in the world, successfully defended that title this year, made it to the 3rd Round in Paris, and now here. I like her game a lot, and I think she can reach the Top 15. She's playing Vera Zvonareva as we speak, and I sincerely hope she beats her, because, as good as Vera is, let's be honest: She got a lot of help to get to the Wimbledon final. I also want to see the upsets continue. What do you think is Dulgheru's potential?

How pathetic is Jelena Jankovic?

**- Im actually a fan of Jankovic, for the record

She needed 3 sets to get through her first 2 rounds in the US Open. Then in the 3rd round she's taken down by Kaia Kanepi

The universe just keeps giving her perfect opportunities to win a Major and she never does it. It's pathetic to see how she just keeps getting out early in Majors and choking to lesser opponents.

I do give credit to Kanepi because she's a former top 20 (I think? Top 30 for sure) player and made it to the QF's of Wimbledon this yr. She played well today and the wind probably helped her a lot.

But seriously, Jankovic can just never break through to actually play well. She comes on the court with a negative attitude and complains. I dont know what happened to the cheerier version of Jankovic in 2007/2008 when she was no.3 in the world working her way up the rankings. I dont even think she should be in the top 7.

I actually picked her to win the US Open this yr (over Pavlyunchenkova), but obviously she wont win lol
- In Safina's defense though, she very well could have won a Major. Unfortunately her injury has kept her out for most of the season.

£4000 for first month in London for two girls from Canada?

It's our first time moving out of our parents' houses in Canada (21 and 20)!!!!!

We're bringing about £2000 each. Is that enough for our first month's rent (including a deposit, council tax, tv tax, utilities, internet, etc...), a cell phone, food, groceries, and a bit of fun?

We will have steady pay for the second month, but need to bring enough money for the very first month. We will look for a furnished 2bdrm flat in Putney, Clapham, Southfields, Wimbledon or Raynes Park. I'm thinking £250pcw just for rent...does that number sound right?


So excited but nervous too!!!!! Any advice is welcome :)

China @ US Open: Anyone Else Disappointed That Li Na Lost To K.Bondarenko? + More?

I know you can't write people off but Li obviously had a bad day, and when she has a bad day, it's a BAD day!
I can't see Bondarenko making much more of an impact in the tournament, but Li Na, at her best really would have had a chance of reaching the semi finals if not the finals if she was on form . . .

Zheng Jie will next face Ana Ivanovic which will be interesting because Zheng is not that consistent in form, but she is playing well lately, beating Dementieva, but so is Ivanovic, so it's hard to say.
If Ivanovic plays as well as she did vs Makarova then I can only see it going to 3 sets if Zheng plays well, but if Zheng plays really well and Ivanovic doesn't play as well as she did in round 1, then Zheng could scalp Ivanovic again.

Peng Shuai won a tight first round match against wildcard Shelby Rogers of the USA.
Peng hasn't played since before Roland Garros except for a short run in a clay court tournament at the beginning of July. She's been very ill but has still maintainted a good ranking and next year she could capitalise on that at the FO and Wimbledon and hopefully will be top 30. She has potential but sometime her 2HF can be a weakness. I think she's got a lot of potential though, especially in the doubles, except I think her last partners have not been great, and Hsieh is not brilliant either. If only Li Na played doubles, they'd be pretty good!
